Magic for Grown Ups
Have you watched TED talks? No, not that annoying Hollywood bear who’s language leaves a lot to be desired, smokes pot and has dodgy dance moves. I mean Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) – short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less) that are devoted to spreading ideas. I loooove TED talks, they cover all sorts of topics on science, business and global issues.
It’s like going to uni without having to do the homework, write the exams or pay the fees. You get to hear from really impressive people of all ages. Leading thinkers in their fields. Even better, you can watch at any time, whether you’re in bed, in your pj’s or sitting outside by the pool.
Could you use a confidence boost? Maybe you need more confidence to tackle your bucket list items, or perhaps you’re going for an interview. This fascinating talk by Amy Cuddy – a psychologist from Harvard University – draws on science, anthropology and psychology to show a little trick that can boost your confidence. I’ve used this strategy myself, especially before doing something new and daring on my bucket list. This talk is my favourite, it’s like magic for grown ups! If you’ve ever needed to boost your confidence, then this one is for you. Enjoy!
Do you have any TED talks that you love? I’d love to hear what they are so I can watch them too.
